When I met my husband my love for auctions began ... Any auction! From Ebay to farming, to cars I have been to a few and love them all! There is nothing like going home and having a great big stash of goodies that you get far below the retail amount. I have been on the selling side too and it's wonderful to make unexpected money for things I just plain didn't want and at times getting really good high money for items that I didn't expect. I remember one time Clay and I were going to just give some chickens away boy, was I happy when we ended up bringing them to the auction and getting $30.00 for each of our Polish Chickens! I remember filling our freezer with bakery cupcakes at 50 cents a box compared to the 4.00 in the store. We have been duped before too, we went to a food auction and the top green beans were nice but the bottom ones were rotten. With Auctions you really have to do your homework and like they say know when to hold them and know when to fold them. You don't fall in love with anything and you don't get bidders fever and bid so high "just to get it" and on the selling end you need to know that you may get nothing for your items. I remember once at a auction the actual seller was bidding like crazy to buy his stuff back when everything was going so low.. which meant for him he had to still pay the auctioneers fees as once it is on the auction block there is no turning back. There are auction sites all over the internet try a few but be aware it is addicting!
